The Installation of Kevin Howell

Relive the NC State community's celebration of the formal installation of Kevin Howell, our 15th chancellor.

In May 2025, NC State University welcomed Kevin Howell — North Carolina native and proud alumnus — as our newest chancellor. Howell is the 15th person to helm the university, a public, land-grant institution that has served its state for nearly 140 years.

On Oct. 30, 2025, Kevin Howell was formally installed as chancellor. The Wolfpack gathered to hear from a lifelong leader who cherishes NC State’s roots, enjoys deep ties to the university community and has a strong vision for our future. Following the ceremony, the wider Wolfpack is invited to a social in Talley Student Union.
