Thank you, NC State Employees

Dear NC State faculty and staff,

I am incredibly proud of and humbled by all that you have accomplished for our Pack in the past year, and I can’t think of a better time to express my gratitude than on Employee Appreciation Day.

I hope that each and every one of you — whether you’re working here on campus or working remotely — feels valued and appreciated always, but especially today. NC State would not be able to provide the excellence in education, research, economic development and outreach that we’re known for today without you and your hard work.

This year has not been easy for any of us. We continue to face challenges brought on by the COVID-19 pandemic, from testing and vaccination protocols to the impact on fiscal and mental health among many members of the Wolfpack. Our community, along with others across the country, has come together and stepped up in response to instances of racial injustice. As we navigate these difficulties, it has been an incredible comfort to know we have the strength of the Wolfpack to rely on.

Despite the hardships of the past year, we have had some incredible successes. Our students and faculty have received highly competitive, prestigious recognitions for their work. The Memorial Belltower will ring its bells for the first time as we celebrate the dedication of Henry Square in just over a week, and we will honor our newest group of graduates at in-person commencement ceremonies. Over the summer, we will continue to plan our return to campus for the fall semester. All of this is possible thanks to you.

I am truly grateful for all you have done and continue to do for the university, and I look forward to having everyone on campus again soon. NC State is an incredible place, but only because of its people.

Sincerely,

Randy Woodson
Chancellor
