Celebrating 2020 Graduates

Dear Wolfpack,

Tomorrow is a special day for the NC State community, and I invite all of you — students, faculty and staff, parents, families and friends of NC State — to join the celebration. We are holding a virtual commencement to honor all of our 2020 graduates from the spring, summer and fall — that’s 9,127 remarkable achievers who made it to the finish line despite immense challenges this year.

These graduates remained focused and steadfast in the pursuit of their goals while having to change the way they live, learn and work at the eleventh hour. They have sharpened their interests, and they are motivated and ready to tackle the grand challenges of society.

As we send these graduates out into the world, I hope you will take this opportunity to rally together and feel a sense of Pack pride and accomplishment. Our faculty and staff moved mountains this past year to help keep our students healthy and on track with their academic progress.

So please join me tomorrow in celebrating their accomplishments, sharing in their stories and wishing them well during our virtual commencement at 6 p.m. EST. We have some incredible speakers, highlighted by NC State alumna and NASA astronaut Christina Koch; a performance by the NC State University Chorale; and, of course, Wolfpack pride throughout.

Thank you all for your hard work this year. I hope to see you at tomorrow’s celebration. And if you’re unable to attend, please take some time to view the recorded version in the days ahead.

Go Pack!
