Wolfpack 2030: Powering the Extraordinary

Dear NC State Community,

NC State’s 2021-2030 Strategic Plan, Wolfpack 2030: Powering the Extraordinary, has been endorsed by the Board of Trustees.

The work to create our new strategic plan began in September 2019 with a leadership retreat representing faculty, staff and students. Since that time there have been dozens of task force meetings, listening sessions and other opportunities for input from the campus community. You can learn more about the process here. The result is an excellent strategic plan built by our Wolfpack community that will help NC State continue its mission for the good of our students, state and world. 

I want to thank Executive Vice Chancellor and Provost Warwick Arden and Senior Vice Provost Margery Overton for their leadership of this process. I also want to thank the Executive Steering Committee and the task forces for all of their hard work in bringing this plan together. Lastly, I would like to thank you for your commitment to excellence through our strategic planning process. Your participation and thoughtful feedback are what make this plan an extraordinary success and will help NC State continue to achieve throughout the next ten years and beyond.

Today, we are excited to announce our new strategic planning website. It will be a great resource for information related to strategic planning at NC State including current practices, past and current planning activities, news and updates, and reporting and resources to include our implementation plans and metrics.

As previously announced, in late spring/early summer, Senior Vice Provost Overton will begin developing implementation strategies and a metrics dashboard with university leaders. Please continue to check the strategic planning website for updates.

Thank you again for your participation in the strategic planning process. Now, let’s roll up our sleeves and get to work on Powering the Extraordinary!
